As a concerned citizen, I am calling for the immediate emotional and personal release of rapper Papoose (legal name: Shamele Mackey).

Papoose is a talented rapper, father, husband, boyfriend, (yes, both) and public figure who has contributed significantly to hip-hop culture.

However, recent public appearances have raised serious concerns regarding his autonomy, personal agency, and ability to make basic day-to-day decisions without external oversight.

Mr. Mackey is currently in a relationship with Claressa Shields—an undefeated heavyweight boxing champion, two-time Olympic gold medalist, and elite combat athlete. While her accomplishments are undeniable, the dynamic of the relationship has caused growing concern among observers.

We are concerned that Mr. Mackey may be experiencing:

• Restricted decision-making (including but not limited to food choices)
• Difficulty speaking freely without interruption or correction
• Mandatory participation in boxing-related training activities
• A noticeable decline in overall happiness

We are not asking for conflict.

We are asking for choice.

Choice in conversation.

Choice in movement.

Choice in meals.
