Many of you will have seen the viral news of a little stray who was brutally tortured by youths in China. She desperately tried to protect her new born until the end. How do we know? Because it wasn’t enough to torture this brave girl, the monsters had to upload the footage by VPN for the world to see.
This heinous cruelty is not new to us. In Yulin Julia and the team witnessed the most horrific things desperately trying to save the few they could. And then back at the base in the scorching heat were confronted with little cats whose bodies had been scolded by hot water and tiny dogs chained in cages dumped near the garbage where the dog meat trade passes.
We continue to campaign against the dog meat trade because we have seen with our own eyes children witnessing these murders. They then grow up to be psychopaths themselves. Surrounded by technology, their vacuous lives enriched only by the thrill of torture of the innocent.
Massive change is needed which is more than just animal welfare laws. Society needs to become more caring and compassionate.
Our charity does its best to lobby for change at the highest level and educate at grassroots. We also actively rescue and care for over 700 dogs and cats. Most days it is miserable, with the only occasional joy of a dog or cat finding a loving home.
