As one 82 year old senior summed it up "Nothing to hide fellas?"

A link to the online meeting will be posted sometime today at: www.toronto.ca/175Cummer and you will be able to join online or via phone.

Tell Toronto City officials how you feel. Tonight's online public meeting was not announced in the media or via flyers and was only communicated to the concerned public yesterday morning via email by the City's "consultants". It appears to be a knee-jerk reaction by City Officials who have been rebuked by the Province of Ontario for their unfair process which avoided public consultation with the affected community.

Tonight's agenda continues to ignore the questions we have been asking for 5 months. Ever since  the surprise announcement in March by Mr. Filion and Mayor Tory that they have secretly selected to impose their housing project on this site.  Many residents have found the previous two public online sessions to be autocratic, with a registered lobbyist and housing activist as the 'third party facilitator' controlling the speakers, preventing attendees from messaging each other or even knowing who is in attendance.

Remember, the City has made a decision to choose this site, a decision they claim is FINAL, with zero community consultation and zero disclosure about what they say are 50 alternative sites in the City they assessed and dismissed.

The City refuses to explain how choosing this protected parkland in a secluded neighborhood of senior home residents could possibly be the best alternative!

And they refuse to disclose the site assessment report (if it exists).

Instead, the City insists on a special MZO order from the Province that would give the City total IMMUNITY.  Immunity from their violation of zoning by-laws, the Official Plan, a 1998 OMB Decision which protected this very site from redevelopment, and citizens' rights to review and appeal.

ONLY the Provincial Minister MPP Stan Cho has stepped up to voice the concerns of thousands of community residents. Minister Cho has protested  the total lack of consultation on the selection of this site. And Mr. Filion's answer this week was to threaten to run Minister Cho out of office in the next Ontario Elections!    The disrespect for for you the residents of Newtonbrook East neighourhood of Willowdale is really stunning. And Filion has sold his home nearby this site and moved to The Beaches!

Filion claims "most of the community supports this" and he won't  even bother to show up tonight! That's how much he respects the community.  He keeps avoiding our questions, saying were are just a small group of troublemakers spreading misinformation.

So here's you chance to stand up to Councillor Filion, Mayor Tory and the city officials who are insisting  they have no choice but to bulldoze dozens of mature trees and  acres of precious protected parklands belonging to hundreds of seniors care home residents in our neighbourhood.
