SENIORS PROTEST CITY OF TORONTO PLANS

A dire warning from the diverse multi-ethnic seniors of Newtonbrook East neighbourhood. On March 10, 2021, at the urging of local councillor john filion and with no proper public input whatsoever, City of Toronto Councillors approved a secretly developed plan. A plan to strip 600 senior citizens of their cherished green parklands at Willowdale Manor and Cummer Lodge homes for the aged. Including clear cutting 60 trees. Stealing from them a community asset that has existed since before Toronto was even settled. And that provides daily solace and tranquility from their windows and for those who can venture out onto this serene landscape.
