"The insurance industry is completing its prep for the disaster season. One of the final initiatives is a series of community forums in high risk areas. ​ The forums will discuss issues potentially driving premiums; the work being done by councils to help mitigate the risks; and measures that residents should consider to help avoid underinsurance or claims issues (eg, maintaining property, setting of sum-insured etc). Each forum will also provide policyholders with an opportunity to discuss insurance issues, one-to-one with an industry representative.
