Due to the increase in home prices, the interest rate increase, the increase in property insurance etc. it makes it harder for the renter to save money for a down payment on a home or makes it difficult for renters to afford rent.
2) Limited Housing Availability
There are only a small number of houses available for purchase or rent and making it difficult to find a place to live.
3) Displacement
People are forced to move from their homes because they can no longer afford to stay in their homes due to rising rents.
4) Struggle to find affordable housing
People are having trouble finding a place to live that is both financially manageable and provides a consistent living environment.
My Recommendation
1) Increased funding for affordable housing development
To make housing more accessible to people with lower incomes who might otherwise struggle to find a suitable place to live.
2) Rent Control Regulations with Tenant Protections
We need the government to limit on the amount that a landlord can demand for leasing a home or renewing a lease.
3) Streamlining permit process for new housing construction
Simplifying and expecting the process of obtaining all necessary government approvals (permits) needed to build new housing.
4) Incentives for building smaller and more affordable housing
Local governments or organizations offer benefits to developers to encourage them to construct smaller more compact housing units that are priced within reach for lower income individuals.
Increased oversight of landlords and rental market practices
Increase the supervision of landlords and market value of rental unit for lease.
