Thank you so much for your support so far. Unfortunately the September 1 deadline is near and my parents have not heard any news yet.

If you have a couple spare minutes, could you please help write an email to the Immigration Ministers (Burke or Thistlethwaite) or SA Premier (Malinaukas) to support my parents?

Please help Tuyen Pham and Vinh Le remain in Australia after 17 years

Dear Minister Burke and Assistant Minister Thistlethwaite,

I am writing regarding Tuyen Pham and Vinh Le, who have been issued a final notice to leave Australia by 1 September 2026.

For 17 years, they have built their lives in Australia, formed deep friendships, contributed to the local Vietnamese Catholic community, and become an important part of their family and community. Their grandchildren are Australian citizens, and their grandparents' love and presence are deeply important to them.

Sadly, a serious car accident approximately a decade ago affected Tuyen and Vinh's health and prevented them from meeting the requirements for permanent residency through their business visa pathway. This was an unforeseen circumstance beyond their control. Despite their best efforts, they are now facing a final notice to leave Australia by 1 September 2026.

At over 65 years of age, being forced to leave the country they have called home for nearly two decades would be devastating. Although they may be able to apply for a parent visa from overseas, the potential waiting period can be measured in many years. For elderly parents and Australian grandchildren, those are not simply years on a waiting list—they are precious years of family life that can never be recovered.

I respectfully ask you to look at their circumstances with compassion and consider any lawful humanitarian, ministerial or visa pathway that could allow Tuyen and Vinh to remain with their family in Australia.

Their local community has already spoken in support of them, including the Mayor of the City of Charles Sturt and a member of the South Australian Legislative Council.

I have signed the petition because I believe Australia can show that compassion and family unity matter.

Please help give Tuyen and Vinh the chance to remain in the home they have built for 17 years.
