Marriott Hotels is one of the most powerful corporate entities in the world. Their facilities host presidents, movie stars, and dignitaries from every part of the world. They contribute millions of dollars to charities across the globe, provide disaster relief, and in general work really hard to present a polished international image. Their hotel in Washington DC even hosts an African American History tour, and they proudly boast of their “valued history with diversity, equity and inclusion” on their website. 

In spite of all of this - on June 29-July 2 they will be hosting a summit by ‘moms for liberty’ an extremist AstroTurf  organization targeting dei programs across the country, burning books, and erasing Black history. 

Our petition- now signed by almost 17,000 individuals, appeals to Marriott asking them to do the right thing; to stand not only in word but in deed to their promise to recognize the importance of Black History, and to support their employees and guests who include many members of the LGBTQ and BIPOC communities. 

Please add your name to this petition. 17,000 signatures has not been enough because we have yet to have heard a word from them despite direct and consistent appeals to their management. 

Maybe 20,000 will be the magic number. 

Maybe 200,000 signatures will get them to take notice. 

Maybe they will never answer; even so we would have amplified our message to hundreds of thousands of people around the globe. Which honestly still sounds like a win.
