Friends,
It's a new year. And there's a new Episcopal bishop in Virginia.
Mark Stevenson recently took over as bishop diocesan. With the hope that we will see a new, ethical approach to Bob Malm's perjury, I've filed yet another disciplinary complaint against Malm with the diocese. Again, I hope Stevenson's arrival allows diocesan officials to abandon preconceived notions, act with impartiality and integrity, and address Malm's misconduct.
Will that happen? I am not sure.
My complaint went directly to Mark Stevenson.
True to form, several days later, I got a response, not from him, but from his admin, Anita Lisk.
I don't know about you, but if I were a bishop and faced allegations of this sort, I'd want to learn about the issues firsthand. So keeping the whole thing at arm's length may be the politically safe route. But it's not a sensible approach.
Let's hope we finally will see the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia act with integrity.
If it does, it will be almost three years to the day since my mother, whom Malm falsely claimed contacted him repeatedly, died of COPD.
Fingers crossed!
Happy New Year to all--and wishing you health and happiness in the coming months.
Eric
