Help me pass a federal ban on all puppy mills, from CA to NJ.

Help me pass a federal ban on all puppy mills, from CA to NJ.
The Issue
As a 11yr proud dog guardian, I have witnessed firsthand the joy, companionship, and unconditional love that a dog can bring into a household. It makes me really sad(and mad!) that some dogs have no love in their early life, only suffering. I know I am only 11,but I want to make a change and give these dogs a better life. I got my dog after she escaped the LA fires and was evacuated to a shelter. However, not all dogs have the fortune of being born or raised in happy, healthy environments. Many come from puppy mills—large-scale breeding operations where profit is prioritized over animal welfare.
Puppy mills are notorious for their cruel practices. They often force female dogs to breed several times a year under inhumane conditions, such as filthy cages, poor food quality, inadequate medical care, and little to no socialization with humans. Puppies from these mills frequently suffer from serious health issues, both physical and psychological, due to the neglect and abuse they undergo in their formative weeks.
These breeding facilities contribute to pet overpopulation and the abandonment crisis in shelters, yet they continue to operate due to minimal regulations. A federal ban on puppy mills would be a monumental step towards ending this cycle of cruelty and neglect.
Many humane and reputable alternatives to puppy mills exist, such as adopting from shelters or purchasing from responsible breeders who prioritize the health and well-being of their animals. A federal ban would not only curb the practice of mass production of pets under intolerable conditions but also encourage adoption and responsible breeding.
The time has come to put an end to these heartless operations. Implementing a federal ban on puppy mills would signify that we prioritize humane treatment of all animals. Let's ensure that no dog has to endure such appalling circumstances ever again.
Please sign this petition to pass a federal ban on puppy mills and shut down large-scale cruel breeders, ensuring a brighter, kinder future for our beloved pets and future family.
