I've been racing motorcycles since I was 14, raced flat track and when I decided to try road racing I signed up with the Central Roadracing Association (CRA).  I ran my first 2 seasons part time, and then in 1989 I raced all the events and earned top 9 novice points which had earned me enough points to become an Expert.  When I filled out my license application for the next year I had requested the lowest 2 digit number available.  I was issued number 10 because at that time the CRA only held single digit numbers for top club points earners.   I ran the number 10 from 1990 through 2008.  In 2009 I was not eligible to keep my number because I had not competed in a CRA event for 2 consecutive seasons.  

In 2009 the CRA changed the rule of awarding single digits to riders that earned overall club points positions accordingly.  To awarding the top 10 numbers for those points earning riders.

I would not appeal to have this rule changed except for the fact that since 2009 the number 10 has only been used ONCE!  Most racers are not going to change their number unless they are going to a single digit, otherwise they will typically run their own number.  

So since it is has proven record of not being used by the number 10 points earner I am requesting that the Central Roadracing Association return to the pre-2009 rule of holding only the single digit number for those that earn those spots.  Thus allowing the number 10 to be used again.
