Help me get my training pay from a terrible company

The Issue

I never got paid for training at APPLEBEE’S IN CEDAR HILL, TEXAS

The following are the names of those that were negligent or mistreated me

Jazmine- The general manager that basically fired me without even asking for both sides to a story or communicate to me about accusations or to see why I didn’t show up for a shift that was made unaware to me

Tyreek- The negligent and unprofessional trainer

Dennis- The lying bartender that made untrue claims on me

I was never told where the schedule was located because I didn’t have a good trainer/manager, so, my GM was telling me when to come in every shift when I ended my current training shift, and I was taking care of my trainer’s section the whole time.

My trainer sat on his phone in the cocktail lounge while I took care of his tables, and when I actually needed him to help me run food to HIS table, he kept his phone held up to his ear in front of the table. Very unprofessional. He got all of the money for my work. Just sitting there. If you know you have a online class to attend to on your phone, tell the managers so you aren’t scheduled.

A table came in and the hostess told my trainer, and he never went to them, so after about 10 minutes of them sitting there looking around, they asked me who was serving them, I didn’t know because neither my trainer nor the hostess let me know, so I went and served them. I told them I was in training but I’d take good care of them because my trainer was being negligent. When they left, they specifically said “this tip is all for you since you did everything”

My trainer took half of that tip even though he held 2 plates with his phone up to the ear.

That wouldn’t have been a big deal if I was actually getting my training pay, but I never did

One night after I finished working, I went home to change clothes, came back up there to meet my boyfriend when he was getting off work, and asked the bartender if I was allowed to sit at the bar or if I needed to sit somewhere else to order an alcoholic beverage. She said that she thought I’d be okay to be by the bar. I ordered a drink. My boyfriend called me, so I went outside to talk, and My GM drove up to give someone her keys for the liquor cabinet (unprofessional as a GM in my opinion) and said “you’re not supposed to be drinking at the bar!” I said “okay miss so-and-so, I’ll go sit at a table”

Then I call another manager to ask when I’m supposed to come in next and was told that I missed a shift. Again, was never shown where the schedule was. My boyfriend also told me that a male bartender said I was drunk while working. I don’t even know what shift he’s talking about, because i was never drunk while working. I was probably just not keeping up with him because I was learning where everything was and what goes in what drink by looking at the cocktail recipes. But I was never drunk while working. That really frustrated me because I was trying to pick up the mixtures on different drinks and because of that, he assumed I was drinking on the job. Sometimes when you throw a new person into the bar a few days after she started, she’ll need a moment to learn the signature cocktails.

I came in a day or so later to see what my next shift would be, again, my mangers and trainer never told me where I could find the schedule, and my schedule was blank.

Either way, it was a terrible experience and I just want my training pay. I’m not even sure that my GM was keeping up with my hours to properly pay me. But, as a seasoned waitress and bartender for 8 years, I can tell you that there is alot of organization to be done at the Cedar Hill Location. Not being paid to be trained is illegal. Having a trainer sitting in the bar area on his phone while I take care of all his tables and get only $10 for it without getting the legal training pay isn’t cool. Bartender lying to managers and saying I was drunk while bartending is such a lie and so completely not cool. My trainer and the managers not showing me where the schedule was located while I was just being told every day when to come in next isn’t professional. And last but not least, my GM not getting any of my bank information to properly pay me for training (with the worst trainer of all time) is not professional.
