Help get my brother out of a Puerto Rico Prison!

My brother was wrongly arrested and imprisoned in Oct 2015. He was wrongfully charged with attempted sex trafficking. My brother is NOT a sex trafficker! He did not ever partake in such an activity! Now he faces up to life in prison!!

We are asking for his immediate release!

My brother is a family man with a Wisconsin business, a house, a family and many, many friends around him! He is a brother, a son, a father, an uncle. He watches the Brewers and Packers and loves picnics with family! Now he has lost everything. He lost his business, his family has limited contact with him, he lost all he has worked for.

My brother always wants the best for his family, he likes to help others, he is active at his daughter's school and with community events; he helped build houses for Habitat for Humanity - he wants to give back and help people! He has a good heart and wants the best for everyone!

We fight against the falsified charges and manipulated information and we don't know who else to turn to for help.

He was denied bail, he was denied a transfer - we don't know what else to do and ask for his immediate release from prison now! He is being detained for no reason!

We ask for his release quickly before his upcoming trial. If he should go to trial in Puerto Rico, it will not be a fair trial, based on the negative publicity his case has received in public newspapers. It is stated “because of the extensive, sensational, and highly prejudicial publicity which has saturated the community”, (my brother) “cannot obtain a fair trial by an impartial jury, untainted by outside information, in the District of Puerto Rico.”

Due to the publicity, he has also been a victim of actual assaults in prison and his physical integrity is consistently threatened.

In addition, being that his entire family is in Wisconsin and has not the means to await his trial in Puerto Rico, he will not have access to witnesses. The 6th amendment states that he must have his own witnesses available in his own defense, -(“have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor”) Clearly his 5th and 6th amendment rights are being violated!

The officer who arrested him states my brother “verbally” waived his Miranda Rights, if he had received them at all, since there is no proof showing evidence that he received or waived his Miranda Rights, and was forced into a testimony while handcuffed in the back of a moving police vehicle with armed law enforcement officials. It was stated, “Court has recognized that the interrogation process is “inherently coercive”.

Now after 8 months he is still being detained. He has not had regular change of clothes, had been held in solitary almost 3 weeks, which is even considered cruel and unusual punishment by the United Nations and his mental and physical health is degrading fast. The medical care is very poor, he does not speak Spanish and he is in severe pain due to back and hernia problems. He also has panic attacks and is throwing up blood.

We need all the help we can get. He was denied bail by the judge, denied the change of venue and the prosecutor was telling blatant lies at his bail hearing stating that his family doesn't care for him, which is untrue and unethical and immoral.

WE ALL LOVE HIM AND WANT HIM HOME!!!

His trial is coming up fast and we need help!

He never did the crime they accuse him of and he needs to be out of that prison and free!!!

We ask that you sign the petition so he has a chance for justice and not just be  another number in a system!

Please pass this on to everyone in hopes that this will help change the system in Puerto Rico and bring my brother back home!

Thank you!!!!!
