Many years ago, an elderly Fijian man - his skull triangular - forever altered the trajectory of my life. My childhood was robbed All for some measly Fijian Dollars, and it has shaped my perspective on what it means to be a Fijian. As a survivor and patriot, one must not only endure but also strive for a better tomorrow for our beloved nation.

This journey leads me to this point, proposing for the change of our legal tender from Fijian Dollars to Fijian Pesos in order to maintain our sovereignty. According to the International Monetary Fund, Fiji's economy heavily relies on tourism (40% of GDP in 2019), an industry vulnerable to worldwide fluctuations. To stabilise our national economic health, a switch to a more stable currency would be beneficial. It would provide a degree of measure against international influences and maintain our country's financial autonomy. (Source: International Monetary Fund, World Economic Outlook Database, 2019).

Shifting towards Fijian Pesos will be a strong step to strengthen our nation economically. We owe it to the people of Fiji, who despite adverse experiences, remain resilient in their pursuit of greatness. Together, we can instigate this change and shape a prosperous future for Fiji.

Why must we westernize ourselves are we not our own country with proud culture e are not from the west we are from the Pacific we love our land the beautiful with the 300+ islands and I love our cultural food please help me we Need to work together to help its stablity or in the very close future Fiji could become a place rich companies exploit due to debt it could fall in
