Each year, countless numbers of good textbooks and reading books end up either in the garbage or just sitting on the shelves after class hours are over. According to environmental statistics, each year millions of tons of books are disposed of in landfills. However, many people living close to us cannot afford good test preparation books and novels for schoolchildren.

Successful initiatives across the country have proven that when communities set up dedicated sharing networks, resource waste drops significantly while student literacy increases.

What we are trying to accomplish: We want to solve this issue locally by setting up The Page-Turn Project. This will be a simple network of physical, student-managed collection boxes placed at [Waxhaw local library].
