2/20/2024, 7:00 PM:

Tonight all seven members of the Olathe City Council approved the engineering staff's recommendation to proceed with the construction of 119th Street, between Woodland and Northgate, without federal funds from the Federal Railroad Administration.  Woodland Road will not be closed at the railroad crossing; that has been removed from the 119th St. construction project.  The City and County will fund the entire 119th St. project.  The City engineer specifically stated Woodland remains open.

Thanks to everyone (540 people) that signed the petition.  The City Council members understood many individuals opposed closing Woodland and that factored in their vote.

The petition will be closed - declared victory!!!  The sign along Woodland Road has been changed - see photo.  Sorry if you get another email when we close this petition

I do not know what happens with the contributions made by 9 individuals.  I don't think it comes to us, but if it does, I will try to get the money back to whomever contributed. I know your names, date, and the amount contributed, but not how to contact you.  Send an email to betzyann@wans.net if you are interested.

Many, many, many thanks for everyone's support.  Greg
