We, the undersigned, urge you to halt the deportation of the Gallo Sarmiento family and allow them to remain in Canada. They have been integral members of our church and Hispanic community for over five and a half years. The family volunteers regularly at St Elias Maronite Church in London Ontario, assists newcomers with integration, and supports local businesses. Mr. Gallo Sarmiento has also been a hard working father trying to support his family by giving them the best life possible. 

The Gallo Sarmiento family's three youngest children were born in Canada. Deporting them would be a profound violation of their rights and rob them of a safe and bright future within the country they call home. Their eldest son, Freddy, is a star student and actively participates in the church's youth group, demonstrating a commitment to leadership and service. The children speak fluent English, and dream of continuing their education in Canada. Forcing them to leave would be a devastating setback.

Colombia remains plagued by violence and uncertainty, with ongoing threats from paramilitary and guerrilla groups. The family has legitimate concerns about their safety, especially given the current political climate. Canada has a proud history of offering refuge to those fleeing persecution. Let's uphold this legacy by demonstrating our commitment to compassion and human rights.

The Gallo Sarmiento family's dedication to the Canadian values of hard work, community involvement, and raising children with strong morals is evident. We urge you to reconsider the deportation order, grant them a stay, and ultimately allow them to fulfill their dream of becoming Canadian citizens. A strong Canada is an inclusive Canada, where families like this one can thrive and contribute.
