The Yorkville Community has become an attractive area for young families, and it's been a joy to watch my child grow and thrive on the Yorkville ballfield over the years. Now, more than ever, it's important that other children in our community have similar opportunities as we continue to grow. The Yorkville Athletic Association is currently one of the fastest-growing baseball programs in Paulding County. As of the Spring 2025 season, we proudly support 8 full teams in our local park, and have even extended our support to neighboring parks by sending additional players to help fill their teams.

Our dedicated group of coaches and players demonstrate passion and teamwork, qualities that should be matched with a safe and efficient environment that they deserve. However, the current state of our park facilities does not adequately meet the needs of our fast-growing community. As residents, we urge the county to fulfill their duty in providing top-notch facilities that not only meet safety standards but also foster growth and development among our young athletes.

Consider this: While Yorkville has greatly expanded, the facilities have not kept pace with the community's demands. In contrast, surrounding parks offer better-maintained fields and amenities, giving their teams an advantage that could be detrimental to our program over time. Our coaches and athletes should not have to operate on undermaintained fields or with inadequate resources.

Yorkville deserves the same level of opportunities and services as other parks in Paulding County. Enhancing our park facilities will ensure that children and families in Yorkville continue to have a safe, engaging space to learn, play, and grow. It's not just about baseball; it's about community pride and ensuring the well-being and future success of our young residents.
