In January, an intruder gained entry to our school during the busy morning drop-off time, slipping in the front door with the rush of caregivers and kids.

While the staff should be commended for acting quickly to put the school into lock-down and apprehend the individual, any breach is one too many. Had this individual been armed or had different intentions, the outcome could have been catastrophic. 

Following this security breach, the parents and guardians of the children this school realized we don't have enough information about the school security protocols and have concerns about the consistency of the processes we are aware of.

As a school community, we are passionate about keeping our kids safe.

We are requesting more specific information about the school's safety protocols and will be providing the principal with a letter outlining the questions we have received from parents/guardians at all grade levels.

We are also requesting a school meeting with the Principal, Superintendent and security personnel to discuss how we can all work together to make our school the safest possible.
