I was recently informed that KCC plan to put a loading bay directly outside Herbert's ice cream kiosk in the Fish market (well known for the Gypsy Tart Ice cream). This would mean that Herbert's would be forced to remove their tables and chairs which their customers have enjoyed sitting on for over 16 years, on sunny days and even on rainy days! Customers enjoy the view from the old side of the harbour overlooking the sea/ fishing boats.

The new planned loading bay is positioned directly in front of Herbert's kiosk. This will be used by lorrys and trucks to deliver food and drinks to businesses in and around the harbour. This petition is asking KCC to consider putting the loading bay in a place where it does not obstruct Herbert's or other local businesses. Not only would the loading bay force Herbert's to remove their tables and chairs, but also, whilst the lorries and vans are parked in front of Herbert's kiosk, they would completely hide Herbert's shop front and their ability to be seen by people walking through the harbour and along The Stade. In this case, KCC has not considered Herbert's as a local business. Please see photos attatched of the planned loading bay. 

Herbert's belongs to my family, and I am passionate to help them and their neighbouring businesses which will be affected by the loading bay. We need all the signatures we can get. Please help to get this petition noticed, it is greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!
