Help Harmony walk at graduation

Help Harmony walk at graduation
The Issue
Harmony Berkowitz-Reyes is doing everything in her power, to convince the Gloversville School District to allow her to walk with her senior class at graduation this June. We need your help, support, & encouragement to make this happen!
Harmony IS a student of the Gloversville School District, in upstate NY. Yet, the people in places of power refuse to allow her to join the graduation ceremony. She started kindergarten with her class, was active in sports, arts, & excelled at school. Covid hit, & opened our eyes to tailored learning opportunities that traditional schools can’t provide. Harmony began a homeschool journey her freshman year, when the public school system opted to return to in person learning, with no regard for protections or alternatives in place for compromised students and the rise in mental health issues among children transitioning back to “normal”. She remained close to her lifelong friends, she integrated wherever she could, met ALL required learning programs, & has been monitored by the Gloversville District superintendent. She is set to receive a “Certificate of Completion” signed by that very superintendent this June. Her family pays taxes for a school that refuses to include their child. The same child that has no choice but to be under the supervision of her local school district. (That’s how homeschooling works, the district you reside in oversees your education program)
She was eligible to attend her senior homecoming dance, after fighting she won the ability to attend her senior prom, senior trip, & was granted the ability to join district teams/extra curricular activities.. as “a student”.
*The district allowed this as of April, her senior year- until then she was repeatedly denied access to these same activities, causing her to miss out on many important milestones over the years. WE can’t let them take her final high school moment.
Harmony has made multiple attempts at contacting district officials to plead her case, attending a Board of Education meeting recently. Like a champion she stood up for herself and spoke her truth to a room full of adults in places of power. As impressed as they were, it wasn’t enough. Instead she was sent a message of denial, claiming she isn’t a “student”. Leaving us asking, can anyone be eligible for a senior class trip? Prom? To play soccer for the GHS team? I didn’t think so. She IS a student, & sadly board policy DOES protect her but the board has a clause of “open to interpretation” that allows them to deny anything they see fit.
Let Harmony walk, so the children after her can run. 💗
