“We attended a scheduled court hearing at the court of cassation for Mr. Rogers around 10:00 a.m. on 20 June 2019, earlier today. After we returned to the office, Mr. Rogers’ Lawyer Ahmad Al Mutairi confirmed he attended today's hearing, the Judge did not make a decision on the case today, and the decision is expected in about one month.
At court, we observed Mr. Rogers standing in a large glass booth with other inmates, with a white hard plaster cast on his left arm, that ran from the base of his fingers up to his shirtsleeve at the elbow. We did not see the cast at our last visit with Mr. Rogers in May. We watched the proceedings, heard judgments, and learned that Mr. Rogers' name was not on the list of judgements made for the day. We waved to Mr. Rogers, and he seemed to notice us, but we were not allowed to speak with him.
