Update — Eight Months Missing: Renewed Call for Action for Kevin Collins Jr.

It has now been eight long months since my son, Kevin Collins Jr., went missing on February 27, 2025, while under the care of Inspira Medical Center in Mannington Township, New Jersey. In all this time, our family has been left without answers, without transparency, and without the sustained, coordinated search Kevin deserves.

From the very beginning, Kevin’s case was marked by negligence and mishandling by both the hospital and the authorities. Instead of learning from those failures, the response has grown more stagnant with each passing month.

On June 6, 2025, authorities made the devastating decision to call off “active” search efforts for Kevin. Nearly five months later, there has still been no renewed or coordinated effort. This ongoing inaction is UNACCEPTABLE AND UNJUST.

To make matters worse, despite ending the active search, authorities have repeatedly delayed and denied our Open Public Records Act (OPRA) requests, citing an “ongoing investigation” that shows no visible progress. These denials have prevented us from accessing even the most basic transparency into Kevin’s case, a lack of openness that not only deepens our pain but also erodes public trust.

Kevin is not just a case number. He is a son, a brother, a loved one, and a human being who still deserves to be found. The failure to treat his disappearance with urgency sends a dangerous message: that some lives are not worth the effort. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT THAT.

WHO WE ARE CALLING ON:

• The New Jersey State Police and Missing Persons Unit
• The Salem County Prosecutor’s Office and Sheriff’s Office
• New Jersey Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin
• Governor Phil Murphy

• The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)

TO IMMEDIATELY:
• Launch a renewed and fully resourced search and investigation into Kevin’s disappearance.
• Deploy specialized search and recovery teams equipped for long-term missing person cases, ensuring no area is left unchecked.
• Expand the search radius in collaboration with neighboring jurisdictions and federal agencies.
• Provide regular, public updates to Kevin’s family and community.
• Conduct a full, transparent review into how Kevin’s case has been handled, and hold accountable those responsible for negligence.

We cannot give up. We will not be silent.
No family should be forced to organize their own searches, beg for answers, or fight this hard simply to be helped. Kevin’s disappearance is not just our family’s tragedy; it is a test of how our systems value human life, fairness, and justice.

We need YOUR VOICE. YOUR SIGNATURE. Help us bring Kevin home and send a clear message that no one is disposable, and no family should ever be abandoned in their darkest hour.
