We are asking for a renewed investigative review, consideration of modern human-trafficking resources, appropriate state and federal assistance, and evaluation of whether Ashley's case may qualify for California's Governor's Reward Program.

Ashley Victoria Koller was 20 years old when she disappeared. Her family has been waiting for answers since 2009.

Ashley was last seen by her family in July 2009 at the Riverside Greyhound Bus Station in Southern California.

But Ashley's story did not begin at that bus station.

In the period before her disappearance, Ashley's life had begun to change. Her family learned that she had become involved in environments and activities that raised serious concerns about sexual exploitation.

What may not have been fully understood in 2009 is viewed very differently today. We now know far more about the ways vulnerable young people can be groomed, isolated, sexually exploited, moved between locations, and drawn into commercial sex.

Ashley traveled outside Southern California in the years before she disappeared. Her family believes the circumstances surrounding this period of her life deserve to be examined again through the lens of what law enforcement now knows about human trafficking and sexual exploitation.

We are not claiming to know what happened to Ashley. That is exactly why we are asking for help.

What We Are Asking

1. Conduct a renewed review of Ashley Victoria Koller's disappearance.

Review the original investigation together with information, technology, databases, forensic tools, and investigative resources available today that may not have been available in 2009.

2. Evaluate the case through a human-trafficking and sexual-exploitation lens.

Examine the circumstances surrounding Ashley in the period before her disappearance and determine whether there are indicators of grooming, exploitation, trafficking, organized commercial sexual activity, or related crimes that warrant further investigation.

3. Review Ashley's travel, associations, and last known location.

Consider whether Ashley's interstate travel, known contacts, online activity, and her family's last contact with her at the Riverside Greyhound Bus Station create leads requiring coordination with other jurisdictions.

4. Seek appropriate state or federal assistance where warranted.

If the evidence supports it, request appropriate investigative assistance, intelligence, technology, trafficking expertise, or interstate resources from partner agencies.

5. Bring renewed public attention to Ashley's case.

Use appropriate missing-person resources and public-information channels to place Ashley's name, photograph, and story before the public again.

6. Evaluate whether a Governor's Reward request is legally appropriate.

California's Governor's Reward Program applies to qualifying unsolved crimes and requires a recommendation from the chief law-enforcement official in charge of the matter. We ask Corona Police Department to evaluate whether the known facts support such a request and, if appropriate, submit it.

Why This Matters
Ashley is not simply a case number. She is a daughter, a sister, a granddaughter, and a young woman who had an entire life ahead of her.

Somebody may know what happened to Ashley. Someone may remember something they dismissed as unimportant in 2009. Renewed publicity can reach people who were never reached before.

Our understanding of human trafficking has changed. Investigative technology has changed. The tools available to compare missing and unidentified persons have changed. Ashley's family is asking that her case benefit from what is available today.
