Morning everyone,
Update: Ofgem to Require Energy Suppliers to Offer Low Standing Charge Tariffs
Uswitch: Save £190 with Fuse Energy
Free Price Compare: Save £110 with E.ON & British Gas
Ofgem are releasing a new consultation on creating new rules that force energy suppliers to offer at least one low-or-no standing charges.
The full update is in the article in the top link, and there will be more coming out over the next couple of days including the full consultation document. I'll write a summary and response and share it with you.
Other links go to price comparion sites, please make sure you've switched to a fixed rate tariff before the price cap rises next week.
The final link is to a site that checks if you're eligible to join a group legal case in the upcoming diesel-gate trials. There is a potential payout of £10,000 per person, depending on how much the courts fine the defending car manufacturers (Mercedes, Nissan, Renault, Peugeot/Citroën, and Ford in this first case). It takes about 60 seconds to fill in your details and sign up to a group action, so it's worth a check if you owned a diesel car that was built by one of these manufacturers between 2008 and 2020.
Thanks all, have a good day.
