Hope you're all enjoying this beautiful sunny sunday! I'm sure energy bills aren't on your mind, but I wanted to share a little known fact, which is that summer is the generally when the cheapest deals are available. This is for two reasons:

1. The price cap is usually cheapest in the summer months, so any reduction suppliers offer on the price cap is generally much cheaper than a reduction on the expensive winter tariffs
2. Because so few people switch in the summer months, its standard supply and demand - suppliers can offer the cheapest tariffs now because not many people will take them, so they won't lose a huge amount of profits but will still attract some new customers.

The current predictions are that the price cap might move up or down by 1 or 2 % in October and January, but by April Next year they are predicted to jump another 7% on today's prices. The two major issues with this are that the predictions are never entirely accurate (no one predicted energy bills going up by 300% in 2022!) and that you just have no certainty on what the outcomes will be - switching to a fixed rate tariff avoids all of these doubts. 

I've put a link to the Free Price Compare at the top, you can use it to sign up for E.ON Next's Fixed 12m v69 which I believe is currently the second cheapest in the market, narrowly out priced by British Gas who is around £4 per year cheaper. I highly recommend switching to a fixed price tariff and always staying on fixed prices, you avoid things like the energy crisis when they happen, you always know how much your energy will cost and you're in control, plus you almost always save money!
