Respond to Ofgem's Standing Charge Consultation
Hey guys,
I wasn't planning on posting any updates today, there's work going on with the report but it's not ready for release yet, but I've just been informed that British Gas are offering a new fixed rate tariff and wanted to let you guys know. This is likely to be a significant saving for most of us.
The new British Gas tariff is £75 lower than the October price cap, and as the January price cap is predicted to go up another £45, this British Gas tariff will be around £120 cheaper than the January price cap.
Saving around £100 on your energy bills might not sound like a lot, but it only takes 15 minutes to do, so thats basically like earning £400 an hour (but there's only 15 minutes worth of work a year). I genuinely recommend getting off of the price cap tariffs as soon as possible, its best for all of us not to be subject to the whims of Ofgem (which you aren't, when you're on a fixed rate deal).
Anyway, while I'm here I wanted to let you know that there are a couple of Ofgem consultations that I'll be addressing next week, so keep your eye out for those consultation responses. Also, you still have change to reply to Ofgem on the Standing Charges consultation, click the second link above for instructions.
Thanks everyone, have a great weekend!
