Petition updateHelp End Social Housing NeglectFalse Claims, Ongoing Neglect — Can We Trust Southern Housing with Our Nation’s Most Vulnerable?

Hi everyone,

I wanted to give you an important update, I’ve now officially moved out of this property.

After months of raising concerns, chasing Southern Housing for action, and even appearing on ITV London News, I’ve finally been able to move into safer accommodation with my child. While that’s a huge relief for me personally, this campaign is far from over.

Southern Housing have since admitted in writing that the property was unsuitable, acknowledging problems such as bed bugs, lack of hot water, and unresolved repairs. However, despite claims that these issues have been resolved, I’ve been made aware by multiple current residents that many problems still remain.

I’ve received ongoing messages from former neighbours describing serious disrepair, including mould, ceiling damage, and continued signs of infestation. Most concerningly, the promised support structure for vulnerable tenants appears to be absent. The term “floating support worker” (this is basically nonexistent) by Bromley Council has been used to justify this, but it does not meet the standard expected for supported housing and tenants with serious mental health conditions are being left to fend for themselves.

I also hold photographic evidence (timestamped) from June 2025 showing that the pest issues were not fully dealt with, despite Southern Housing’s statements to the contrary.

This petition was never just about my situation…it’s about the wider issue of neglect and unsafe living conditions for social housing residents, many of whom cannot speak up for themselves.

Please continue to sign and share this petition. There are still vulnerable individuals living in unacceptable conditions, and your support is crucial to keeping this issue in the public eye.

Thank you again for standing by this cause.

Apologies for the lack of updates, it has been quite a busy and stressful time.

Kind regards,

Antonia Wall

Southern Housings Letter to Liam Conlon (MP) :

Dear Mr Conlon,

RE: Ms Antonia Wall

 Beckenham

We wanted to update you about the case of Ms Antonia Wall who featured on ITV

London News in April. We previously contacted you following this news story and committed to resolving the issues raised by Ms Wall.

Moving home

Ms Wall had requested to move from due to its unsuitability as a family.

home following the birth of her child. We're pleased to confirm Ms Wall is now settling into her new home after moving on from ******.

We've listened carefully to the feedback from Ms Wall about her experience of living at ***** and take the matters she's raised seriously. We've apologised to Ms Wall about the challenges she faced around bed bugs, along with repairs to her shower and kitchen hot water.

We've taken action to address the issues she's raised about her home and the building.

Action we've taken at

The health, safety and wellbeing of our residents remains our highest priority. We visited the building in early May to proactively check if there are any repair issues we're unaware of. We contacted residents beforehand to let them know we were attending and visited a number of flats to identify any repair issues.

During our visit, we identified and fixed a broken external air vent cover in the communal area and carried out a deep clean of the communal washing machines.

We previously advised the hot water and heating had been restored to Ms Wall's home after our contractor visited in April. Ms Wall's shower was also left in working order.

We aim to provide an accessible service for our disabled customers.

If we can adjust our service to better support you, please let us know.

We've reiterated to all residents how they can report repairs to us and encouraged them to contact us with any other concerns.

Pest control

We committed to a comprehensive treatment plan to rid Ms Wall's home of bed bugs and mice, which is now complete.

Our specialist contractor visited the building last month and we're pleased to say they didn't find any rodent activity in any of the flats. We've also had no further reports of bed bugs from any resident since they completed their treatment.

We remain in close contact with our contractor and will discuss with them if ongoing treatment is still needed to avoid this issue happening again.

We remain committed to improving our service and ensuring a better experience for all our residents.

If you've any further questions about Ms Wall's case or anything else mentioned in this letter, then please get in touch and I'd be happy to provide any additional information you require.”

as you can imagine this is frustrating due to the blatant lies Southern Housing gets away with.
