Help End Social Housing Neglect

The Issue

I live in “supported accommodation” managed by Southern Housing with my baby son. That name suggests safety, dignity, and care -- but what we’re living in is closer to abandonment.

The hot water doesn’t work, bed bugs infestation, mice run through the halls, mould spreads across our ceilings, and the communal areas are so filthy they feel dangerous. But no matter how many times we ask for help, we’re met with silence.

This isn’t just about bad housing. It’s about neglect that seeps into every corner of your life. About being treated like you're invisible — even when you’re crying out for help.

Someone I cared about died by suicide in this building and I will never forget the moment their body was carried away.

That’s what happens when people are left to suffer without support, without hope. That’s why I started this petition to end social housing neglect.

Meanwhile, hundreds of council homes sit empty. Why? Because landlords can still claim money from the government — even if no one’s living there.

This isn’t mismanagement. It’s a betrayal.

We’re calling for:

  • A full investigation into housing associations working with Bromley Council
  • Accountability for those violating housing and care regulations
  • Action against landlords keeping homes empty while families suffer
  • Real reform of “supported housing” so it actually supports people

We are not statistics. We are parents, survivors, disabled people, elders — and we deserve more than this.

Sign the petition. Speak out. Help us demand the dignity every human being deserves.

If you’re experiencing similar issues to myself, I would love to help. The more of us showing what we are living through, the more they will listen
