Cougar hunting has been out of hand since the late 19th and early 20th century, and the bounty has brought them nearly to extinction. The laws that regulate whether people can shoot them or not have a lot of wiggle room. A person can shoot a cougar at the mere feeling of being in danger in their presence, yet you are more likely to be stung by a bee than be attacked by a cougar. 

   If the cougar falls victim of hunting, we will no longer have this species roaming the earth. There are a copious amount of human-educed extinct animals that we wish we hadn't hunted, such as the dodo, West African black rhinoceros, quagga, Zanzibar leopard, passenger pigeon, and the American East Coast puma for example. 

   As the Puma concolor populations decrease year after year, now is the time to act! We can make a difference towards ending puma hunting and allowing these beautiful species to thrive and their population stabilize. It begins with us and the act of signing this petition.
