Dr. David Francis-Maurer (aka DFM) came to Cherry Hill East only two years ago as the Assistant Principal for CHE (Class of '27). On May 15th, a rumor began circulating that DFM would be leaving us at the end of the school year. While the reason for his departure is still unknown, it has left everyone in his orbit, deeply saddened. Dr. Francis-Maurer is one of the kindest souls to ever walk the halls of Cherry Hill East. He greets students with a smile and words of encouragement as they get off their busses and enter the building. During lunch, he strolls around the Cafe asking kids how their days are going, and if anyone can brighten a student's day, it's him. I have never known anyone to dislike him because he always puts students first and makes time to meet with any student if there is a concern. He is heavily involved with the Class of '27 and has been to almost every single school event since he first came to East. We hope that this is a kind way to show our appreciation for DFM, and we want our voices to be heard. If he really is leaving, then we thank him for the amazing things he has done for us. He has helped the sophomore class create so many unforgettable memories, and we will miss him. Your signature shows your support for him, whether we are able to change the situation or not, and we appreciate the impact he has made on all of our lives.
