We need your support to make on-street parking a reality and allow greater flexibility when parking car2go vehicles in Toronto.

car2go, the market leader of one-way carsharing across North America, enables drivers the flexibility to make one-way trips without having to return the vehicle to a specific location. Members across every car2go city in North America – except Torontonians - are able to park where they need to. In Toronto, however, members are restricted and must only end their car2go trips in designated parking lots or at six CVPA on-street dedicated spots.

By granting car2go members the right to park in any public on-street parking space, members would be able to access car2gos where they need them - whether it’s near their home, work or play, and park it at their destination point, leaving the vehicle available for the next member who needs to get from Point A to Point B. Carsharing seeks to address the parking and congestion challenges that cities face, and on-street parking is a critical component in ensuring that this goal is truly met.

With the support of our community, we have convinced the Public Works & Infrastructure Committee (PWIC) to complete research on how on-street parking for carsharing vehicles could be a success in Toronto. As we prepare for our meeting with PWIC this fall to make our final case on why on-street parking is so important for Toronto residents, we would like to ask for your help.
