Help change Peaster ISD discriminatory policy against male hair length

Help change Peaster ISD discriminatory policy against male hair length
The Issue
Our son Hudson has never had a hair cut, and has had hair past his shoulders since kindergarten. Unfortunately after years of being in public school including 2 years in Peaster ISD our son will face ISS if he doesn't cut his hair to his shoulders. We have had a meeting with the Principal and our new superintendent over the matter. At this time the school district is holding firm and telling us we have a decision to make. Ultimately cut his hair or send him to school for punishment. We have reached out to our board with a letter as well with no response. To tell an incredible child that the way he looks isn't acceptable to get an education in our public school system is heartbreaking. Please help us Change these policies and stand up for the males of Peaster ISD!
Our letter to the board and superintendent :
Good Afternoon,
We are writing this letter in hopes of being heard on behalf of our son Hudson Lucas. Hudson has been a student in Peaster since the 21-22 school year. We have had family land here in Peaster for decades and we have prayed for the day the Lord would allow us to be able to take root in this district for our children. Before actually moving to the district I reached out multiple times making sure his hair would be acceptable. We were welcomed with open arms and have been very proud to be apart of such a wonderful community. Hudson is not your typical boy, he has beautiful long curly hair that has never been cut. Hudson is an incredible young man loved by many in our community. He loves playing football for the pya and is looking forward to playing for the school. He has amazing leadership skills, a heart for the Lord, a personality that captures the hearts of many. He is a confident boy that takes pride in all the strengths the Lord has given him. We know the hair policy has changed and we are reaching out in hopes you would please reconsider. He has been able to walk into school with confidence every year and at this time the fear he is facing over this matter is heartbreaking. He doesn't understand how a few inches of hair would affect his education or the education of others since it's never been a problem in the past. He is an A/B honor roll student with great citizenship. We beg you to please consider that this matter is crushing this boy's spirit and taking the joy and excitement away from a new school year. Our prayer is that your hearts would hear us .Hudson would love the opportunity to meet with you in person if needed and he has a large amount of our community ready to write letters on behalf of this boy's integrity and what he brings to our community.
With Blessings,
The Lucas Family
