Help Build an Accessible Community Path in North Reddish Park
The Issue
North Reddish Park is one of our community's greatest assets, bringing people together to walk, play, exercise and enjoy nature. But for many residents, accessing the park safely all year round remains a challenge.
Wheelchair users, people with mobility difficulties, older residents, families with pushchairs and those recovering from illness or injury can struggle when paths become muddy, uneven or inaccessible.
We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to enjoy their local park.
We are calling on Stockport Council to create a simple, accessible circular community pathway that allows people of all ages and abilities to enjoy North Reddish Park safely throughout the year.
●Why this matters
A new accessible pathway would:
♿ Improve access for wheelchair users, mobility scooters and walking aids.
👨👩👧 Make it easier for families with pushchairs and young children.
🚶 Encourage walking, exercise and better physical and mental wellbeing.
❤️ Help reduce loneliness by creating a safe, welcoming place where people can walk, meet and connect.
🌳 Make the park more inclusive, ensuring everyone can enjoy this valuable green space.

In July 2026, Stockport Council pledged £270,000 to improve four local parks.
We welcome this investment and believe North Reddish Park should benefit from these improvements, with accessibility at the heart of future development.
This campaign is about working together with Stockport Council, our local councillors and the wider community to create a healthier, more inclusive park for everyone.
