Help Bring Veeramuthu Annadurai Home
A hardworking, educated young man has spent more than two months in immigration detention. We are asking for your support.
Please sign this petition and share Veeramuthu’s story.

Veeramuthu Annadurai is a 30-year-old mechanical engineering graduate who came from a modest background and worked incredibly hard to build a better life. Today, he has been separated from his family and loved ones for more than two months while being held in immigration detention.

We are asking our community to stand with him and support his efforts to obtain his release while his immigration case continues.

What Happened to Veeramuthu?
Veeramuthu was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) even though he had work authorization and a valid driver's license at the time of his arrest. He was taken to the Batavia Detention Center, where he remained detained for more than two months.

While his family and attorney were working to seek his release, Veeramuthu was unexpectedly transferred from Batavia to a detention facility in Baldwin, Michigan.

He was given only approximately two hours' notice before the transfer.

Imagine being separated from your loved ones, already spending months in detention, and then suddenly being told that you are being transferred to another state with almost no notice. This has caused Veeramuthu tremendous stress and emotional hardship.

His attorney had already filed a bond request seeking his release. However, before the bond matter could receive a hearing, Veeramuthu was transferred to another detention facility, and the bond request was denied without a hearing.

Now, after more than two months in detention and another difficult transfer, his attorney is working to pursue another bond request.

We need your help now.

Who Is Veeramuthu?
Veeramuthu was born on June 10, 1996, in Sendankadu, a rural village in Tamil Nadu, India.

He was raised in a modest family and grew up understanding the value of hard work, perseverance, responsibility, and education.

His family faced economic hardship and social discrimination, but Veeramuthu refused to allow those circumstances to determine his future.

Through determination and years of hard work, he completed his education and earned a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

He worked to build a future based on his education, skills, and dedication.

But Veeramuthu is more than his education and professional qualifications.

He is a person who cares deeply about his family and the people around him.

I have known Veeramuthu for more than five years. During that time, I have known him to be kind, respectful, hardworking, responsible, compassionate, and family-oriented. He is someone who consistently thinks about others and tries to help the people around him.

Today, he needs us to stand with him.
Veeramuthu has already overcome significant obstacles in his life. He worked hard for his education, pursued opportunities for a better future, and continued moving forward despite the challenges he faced.

Now he is sitting in immigration detention, separated from the people who love and support him.

His unexpected transfer to Michigan has made an already painful situation even more difficult.

His family and supporters are doing everything they can to help him.

But we cannot do this alone.

What We Are Asking For
We are asking everyone who knows Veeramuthu—and everyone who believes in compassion, fairness, and giving people an opportunity to move forward—to stand beside him.
