We, the undersigned, are petitioning Murray Middle School to bring back the use of student lockers for the upcoming school year.
Currently, students must carry  their computers, binders, athletic gear, and personal belongings in their backpacks throughout the entire school day. This setup creates several urgent problems that affect our school community every day:
Health and Safety: Carrying heavy backpacks for hours puts a severe physical strain on growing middle schoolers, leading to back pain, poor posture, and muscle weakness.
Classroom Clutter: Without lockers, big ol backpacks always fall off the backs of chair and 
Protection from the Weather: Students have no safe place to store wet coats, umbrellas, or cold-weather gear, forcing them to sit in damp clothes during class.

Giving back lockers will create a healthier, safer, and more organized learning environment. We understand that managing transition times is important, and we are eager to work with teachers to build a schedule that allows for quick, orderly locker stops between classes.
