Earlier this year, Somerset County, New Jersey, purchased Hillsborough Golf Club as part of their Sourland Mountain Open Space Preserve, with the intent to protect plant and animal life, clean water and outdoor recreation.

Amwell Valley Cricket Club had managed a cricket club on the site since 2010. It had built an unsurpassed reputation in the local community and with regional social cricket clubs, creating the only “real grass” cricket wicket on the east coast of the US. It also provided support for local youth sport development.

Amwell Valley Cricket Club has entered in a joint venture with DreamCricket to develop a purpose-built 3-field cricket center-of-excellence on 10 acres. Its focus will be on youth cricket development and public-access recreational adult cricket for the local community.
