Help bring change to the Nanango Race Club
The issue
**Subject: Request for Immediate Removal of Nanango Race Club Committee**
We, the undersigned members and concerned community supporters of the Nanango Race Club, hereby submit this petition to formally request the immediate removal of the current committee governing the club. Our decision to take this action is based on a series of serious concerns regarding the management and operations of the club, particularly their failure to adhere to their own constitution and their responsibilities to the members and the racing community.
**Key Issues:**
**Failure to Abide by Constitution**: The Nanango Race Club committee has continually failed to comply with its own constitutional mandates regarding member rights and responsibilities. This includes a refusal to fulfil requests for information that is rightfully owed to the members.
2. **Refusal to Accept New Members**: The current committee has systematically declined to accept new memberships in a timely fashion contrary to the club’s mission to promote inclusivity and growth within the racing community. This intolerance for new members not only harms the club’s future but also restricts diversity and participation.
3. **Allocation of maintenance Funds**: There has been a lack of transparency when allocating funds for maintaining the training track and subsequent equine facilities. The training track, intended for race training purposes, has not been adequately maintained, (subsequently closed by Racing Queensland and then removed by the current committee) leading to concerns about safety and the overall continued degradation of all equine facilities.
4. **Ignored Communications**: Hundreds of pages via email have been sent to Racing Queensland from the concerned members representative regarding these issues, yet little to no action has been taken. This lack of engagement demonstrates a serious disconnect between the committee, Racing Queensland and the members with these concerns.
5. **Failure of Mediation**: Attempts at mediation to resolve these issues have proven ineffective. The committee's unwillingness to engage constructively has left us with no other recourse but to seek removal of those in charge.
***** Our statement and vision as the undersigned and concerned community supporters***
** Reconvene with all current and future members to clearly define the vision and mission of the Nanango Race Club as a full Non For Profit entity run entirely by its members and volunteers. This will serve as the foundation for our organisations activities.
** Establish a dedicated committee or board who are passionate about returning the club to community, one where every member of our community feels at home.
**Request**:
In light of these serious deficiencies in governance and management, we respectfully urge the Racing Queensland Board to investigate these matters thoroughly and proceed with the immediate removal of the Nanango Race Club committee. We believe that a leadership change is crucial to restoring the club's integrity, fostering inclusive practices, and ensuring the racetrack meets its intended purpose.
We appreciate your attention to this urgent matter and look forward to your prompt action.
