HELP BRING BABY ISAAC HOME!

HELP BRING BABY ISAAC HOME!
The Issue
My 19-year-old son and his girlfriend brought the most beautiful baby boy into this world. Realizing they couldn't provide the stable home he deserved, they entrusted me and my fiancé with his guardianship, believing it to be the best for him. The mother had another child a year earlier but couldn’t take care of her, leading to CPS involvement in that situation. Shockingly, they merged both cases and removed my grandson from our care because my fiancé is on the SOR. No imminent danger!
A 5 week old baby that can now have emotional and developmental hardships because he was torn away from his caregiver (grandma) while developing his trust and emotional bonds. This is a crucial time in development and strictly from assumption, now I gotta.fight! Then it will take much more time and extra care to attempt to give him back what he lost! He was put in imminent danger by being torn from his family, instead of working with us and seeing how well he was taking care of and had more than any infant needed!
It is a devastating experience not just for us as a family, but most importantly for my grandson who is now in the system instead of being with people who love and cherish him unconditionally! Children deserve to be raised in environments filled with love and care, not unnecessary bureaucracy and procedural errors that harm rather than protect.
Child Protective Services (CPS) should be required to prove imminent danger before taking a child from their home, especially in loving, secure environments. Parents and guardians need fair treatment and due process to prevent unwarranted interventions like ours. A home filled with love should never be shattered by misplaced assumptions and lack of evidence.
In Romney, West Virginia, many families like ours suffer due to this oversight. It is critical to differentiate between genuine threats and homes providing safe haven for these precious children.
Mandating CPS to substantively demonstrate imminent danger before relocating children will not only protect the integrity of loving families but also use state resources in a manner that truly safeguards children in real danger.
We must stand together to demand reforms within CPS processes to ensure that families aren't unnecessarily broken up. Protect our children and the sanctity of our homes.
Sign this petition to advocate for a system that genuinely supports our families and upholds justice for all involved.
