We Need Media News Outlets to Help Bring Attention to Missing & Abducted NY Pets
The Issue
On August 8th, 2022 our fur baby Coco, a 6 year old Havapoo, got out of our front door and was taken. Our family remains heartbroken and sad over not having her in our lives. She is still a big part of our family and we just want her back. We have done everything possible from hiring a pet tracker, hanging flyers (not only in our neighborhood but all over Long Island), and turning to social media to help us find her. We have had such an amazing community response and so much help but we unfortunately still have not found our girl.
Sadly, we are not the only family that is heartbroken over having a missing pet. So many people all over Long Island have a missing pet and know the awful feeling our family is going through. If you have ever lost a pet you know how much of a void is left in your home. There is only so much families can do to notify the community of their missing pet. We truly believe that with the help of media outlets such as News12 have the power to help reunite pet owners with their fur babies. The media exposure can deter people from keeping pets they find that are not theirs and alert community members to keep an eye out for missing pets in their area, helping people be reunited with the missing pets sooner.
We are asking that News12 and other local media outlets have a daily segment bringing awareness to missing pets. Please listen to Long Islanders and their pleas to have our missing fur babies televised so they have a much better chance of being reunited with their families who miss them terribly.
