Help bring an additional Emergency Services Station to the Pioneer Valley, QLD
The issue
The residents of the Pioneer Valley, Queensland, urgently need a dedicated ambulance & fire station to ensure the safety, health, and wellbeing of our growing communities.
Currently, ambulance and fire services are dispatched from Beaconsfield, Paget or Walkerston (firies only), often facing long travel times on the roads to reach people in need. In life-threatening emergencies such as heart attacks, car accidents, asthma attacks and house fires, minutes can be the difference between life and death. For a region with a significant population, a high proportion of elderly residents, and a growing number of families, this situation is no longer acceptable.
The Pioneer Valley including towns such as Walkerston, Mirani, Mia Mia, Septimus, Kuttabul, Eton, Hampden, Kinchant Dam & Marian, is home to thousands of people has large agricultural and industrial businesses. Despite the increasing demand, we remain without a locally based ambulance station to respond quickly to emergencies and fire services need better access for the residents of Eungella, Finch Hatton and surrounds as Walkerston is to far in a dire emergency!
We are calling on the Queensland Government, Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS), Queensland Fire Service (QFS) and relevant decision-makers to:
-Commit to building and staffing a fully operational emergency services station in the Pioneer Valley (Marian, Mirani or similar)
Every signature on this petition is a voice for safety, equality, and common sense. Let's stand together to make sure our community has the emergency services it needs, before it's too late.
