The Issue

Attention society, my name is Elias and over the past 5 years I've realized a huge shift in society, kids are becoming addicted to their screens, and they're becoming very careless and they don't seem to want to do anything else expect watch TikTok or YouTube or watch random things they don't even know about. Which is why I'm asking you to please encourage people to limit screen time for kids, and if you have kids, make sure you know what you're kids are watching.

One great example of what i'm talking about is a YouTube series called skibidi toilet, skibidi toilet is a show in which toilets battle with TV's? I'm very confused on why this has kids fascinated and I realized that its keeps their attention with the fast action and quick pacing that really does nothing. The show, as of the day I wrote this has'nt even ended, and it seems as it never will. This keeps kids hooked onto what is essentially rotting their brain. It teaches kids nothing, and just keeps them addicted.

On average in 2010, kids used screens for 4-6 hours. In 2024 7-9 hours, THAT'S A 3RD OF THEIR TIME. It's fine to use screens to teach kids something by watching educational shows that actually do something. In fact, screen addiction can cause childhood obesity, brain development issues, depression, anxiety, insomnia and other sleep disorders, impaired social skills, reduced attention spans and cognitive difficulties. I really don't want this to happen to our future generations. And which is why I am asking you parents to please limit your childs screen time to 1-2 hours a day, which is scientifically okay for children. There are so many other things they could do, draw, practice sports, run, play with toys, and many others. If you don't have kids, share this with people you know who, do and thanks for reading this and have a truly wonderful day. (Image by the New York Times)
