Help Bad Dinosaurs get more seasons, a movie, toys, games, DVDs, and merch!
The Issue
My family, friends, and I all agree that Bad Dinosaurs is the best kid's cartoon that exists on Netflix. The show ranked #1 for most watched kid's show worldwide on Netflix and #5 including all other kinds of shows on Netflix. Its success is well deserved as it is a really good continuation of the pilot series by Rathergood on YouTube, Dinosaurs: Terrible Lizards, which already had been established as one of the best YouTube comedy cartoons ever made.
The Dinosaurs: Terrible Lizards pilot episodes currently have 51,877,990 views and 163,191 likes collectively and 87% of Google users gave it a thumbs up on the Google page. Let's increase those numbers! It is now owned by Netflix under the name of Bad Dinosaurs, which the number of views and likes collectively on the official Netflix Jr., Netflix Junior Italia, Netflix Jr. Brasil channels, and the ones with official behind the scenes content have quickly outperformed those of the pilot, which was made 10 years prior, with 195,213,822 views and 463,832 like currently! Collectively between the pilot episodes and the Netflix series official uploads, the series has 247,091,812 views and 627,023 likes! That isn't even counting the amount of views and thumbs up on the main Netflix service and official other behind the scenes and trailer videos on other websites, which no doubt WAY outperforms even that! That is how popular it is! It even has a 100% approval rating on the Rotten Tomatoes review.
I heard from someone I'm close to, that they heard from a source they want to keep anonymous that Netflix has not yet greenlit a season 2 or a full length theatrical film of Bad Dinosaurs, despite the producers wanting to make more episodes and being enthusiastic about a movie. This makes no sense considering I would think it would be one of the biggest income sources for Netflix right now. The show ended on a cliffhanger with a new baby T-Rex being born and there are still many characters from Dinosaurs: Terrible Lizards that could be added as well as many other dinosaur species and funny visual jokes that could be implemented.
Someone who has worked for me, Adam E. Wyeth, who has done excellent animations, stories, and artwork in the past, told me he did concept art, storyboards, and scripts for an episode for a second season of Bad Dinosaurs. If not used for that, he would try to repurpose them for a Bad Dinosaurs movie. He won't show anyone his work unless it is officially used and I really want to know what he made for it. A large part of why I made this petition is that I really want to see him succeed in having his ideas used because I know he is a hilarious comedian and his character designs for other projects are all adorable. By signing this petition, you are also requesting that he be hired by Snafu Pictures and Able&Baker Studios as a writer, concept, and storyboard artist for Bad Dinosaurs season 2 or a Bad Dinosaurs movie if it ever begins production. He is great at keeping secrets, so please offer him the chance to sign an NDA for working on Bad Dinosaurs season 2 or a Bad Dinosaurs full length theatrical film.
Regarding all information as to what merch, toys, and games I request to be made and how they are made is all based on obtained data from fans' requests of what they want and how they want it made as I am trying to push for what the collective community would want the most. All below suggestions are based on things like what the youngest family members wanted who are fans of this series based on their descriptions and what parents agree would just make for funny and amusing comedy products that they all think should be made taking into consideration what kinds of ideas really make the target audiences laugh. I felt it was a necessary disclaimer that these are ideas fans agree on and what is listed below is not suggested for selfish reasons.
It is also super important that all products produced are available internationally and able to be bought and shipped to any requested location in the world. for instance, some of the biggest fans who might really want these products live in regions like Japan, America, France, or Korea, etc. It is important that they are all permanently easily available to all people who might want them.
We also need merchandise, I saw hilarious shirts with the logo and Bigby, the velociraptor on one design and Hattie, the triceratops on the other on Instagram as well as stickers of many characters. Not only should these be available for public sale, but all manner of things like cups, clothes, posters, etc. Most importantly, we should have toys and video games. There are currently 3 official T-Shirts for sale with the pilot episodes' characters, I'll link them below, as buying them helps support and advertise the series.
Charlotte The Pterodactyl T-Shirt
Dinosaurs: Terrible Lizards Icthyosaurus T-Shirt
Graham The Stegosaurus T-Shirt
There are also a few birthday tapestries from Walmart you can buy to support the series! I'll link them, too! Whether or not they're official, it still encourages companies to make merch of this series!
Charlotte The Pterodactyl and Trevor The T-Rex Tapestry
Helen The Hadrosaur and Trevor The T-Rex Tapestry
For a video game, maybe an on foot racing game or a platformer with comedic combat? It should be a physical release on home consoles, like the original Nintendo Switch and have all dinosaurs playable with different gameplay styles. They should implement comedic abilities using stuff like farting and burping because that kind of humor was some of the funniest in the show. It was actually smart and utilized funny physics related ideas like propulsion with it. The games should have single-player and couch multi-player co-op and verses options with the ability to play as every character, both good and bad from their own perspectives with varying gameplay elements that fit them all. I think it should be requirement for every character to have a fart on command button, as farting is the main staple humor of the show, so any character can fart at any given time either as a double jump boost, attack, puzzle solving mechanic, flight method, or just a comedic action to amuse the player. It should also bubble if done in water. Also please keep all character designs identical and exact to their Bad Dinosaurs show appearances with no design or detail changes or omissions on their models.
For toys, they should make action figures and LEGO sets with functions to make them do the same hilarious slapstick scenarios and gross out antics they do in the show, like farting, burping, peeing, barfing, etc. Alex Mallinson who worked on the show now works at LEGO, so he should be hired to create those toys because he undoubtedly knows those characters and what the fans want more than anyone else who works at LEGO! LEGO ones would be great if they are NOT like the chunks in LEGO Jurassic Park, but actually built from several bricks since LEGO already has many of the right shapes. Squishy-stretchy rubber toys of these characters would be great too, but according to the fans, what we mainly need are farting plushies of all of these characters. Fans think it'd be hilarious if all of these had industrial air bladders in them that work like self inflating whoopee cushions, but don't take away from the cuddly feeling of them. Do NOT use electric sound makers for this, they are repetitive, and either a waste of batteries or a serious concern if batteries can't even be changed. The way they should be made is so that they self inflate and make fart sounds by blowing air out openings in their bottoms when squeezed so that it looks and sounds like a real fart and is funnier because it can blow over action figures, making it look like they fainted if it has enough force, which would be a great play feature. They would also have infinite new sounds! Basically, they would be made the same way as the farting Puft plush from the game Oxygen Not Included, but with fart sounds that fit the characters better. Maybe the rubber squishy anti-stress toys could have this feature too and maybe have the velociraptor's bottoms made of rubber on the plushies to more accurately capture their hilarious flabby quality. Fans think the whoopee cushion-type air nozzel should end at the surface of the openings of their bottoms, so that it doesn't look like they have tapes if it sticks out beyond the opening, which would be creepy. Fans also want them to be absolutely certain to make all plushies 100% screen accurate, with no missing details or ugly incorrect body proportions, like that big head small body nonsense that has ruined too many plushies since we want them to have the exact relative size proportions of their body parts they have in the show. Also, farting plushies must be made of EVERY CHARACTER or at least the ones who are dinosaurs. I personally feel the T-Rexes, velociraptors, pterodactyls, ankylosauruses, and triceratopses are the most important ones to start out with. Also, most importantly, do NOT allow the company that makes the DreamWorks plushies to make them since they make DreamWorks' characters look like bootleggy disasters. They should also be big enough to have well defined details and not be too small for adults to decently hug, as people who suffer from bad stress or anxiety are often disappointed in the small size of plushies that only kids can decently hug, making it impossible for them to be helped by their stress relieving qualities.
Many of us agree that it seriously harmed Netflix's brand that they no longer produce physical DVDs. We need complete season and series DVD sets of Bad Dinosaurs which also include the Bad Dinosaurs pilot animation, the 4 earlier pilots on YouTube under the name "Dinosaurs: Terrible Lizards", and the full 8 minute long version of the "I Like Dinosaurs Song" music video, so that we always own them physically and can't lose them for any number of reasons, like removal from Netflix or other platforms, our accounts expiring, complete shutdown of Netflix or YouTube, or the end of the internet existing, which is an unlikely disaster, but I'd rather be prepared by owning what shows are most important to me in a form I can't lose. I also like to support specific series and creators directly, which is difficult to do by just having a Netflix account active, so they need to produce Bad Dinosaurs DVDs.
By signing this petition, you are letting the Netflix higher-ups know that we NEED as many seasons and movies of Bad Dinosaurs as possible. This is where true fans of the series stand together to fight for it to continue while there is still a chance that it might. When you sign, you are also letting them know that you seriously want various toys, video games, and other merchandise to be produced based off of the Bad Dinosaurs series.
It doesn't have any political agendas that would divide the fandom, unlike almost all modern shows now. All of the content in it is hilarious and good regardless of what political or religious beliefs you may have. All of the butt jokes are clearly humor, just slapstick accidents and silly antics, which is backed up by the characters' reactions in those situations, which is usually just laughter or disgust.
By signing this petition you are also supporting the continued use of the same kinds of hilarious slapstick and crude humor to be used in future content. You are also taking a stance to permanently prevent anything with a political agenda of any kind from being inserted into the series that could offend anyone because of their political or religious stance.
I think this show is healthy for kids' humor development as it presents many things that could happen in life from a healthy and humorous perspective that could potentially save them by helping them have safe mind development because it allows them to express the ruder side of their natural humor without worry. Believe me, worry and suppression of natural personality traits can harm kids' psychological development. so this series is a huge help.
It shows many times things like the importance of working together as a family unit and friendship. I think showing the natural food chain and strong competition in the antics as well as having them communicate in roars, yet being extremely relatable despite this helps people understand and relate to other creatures a lot more. I have seen several kids watching this laugh at it the whole way through with pure innocent humor, my family is the same way, so I say it is in fact appropriate for everyone!
I think one of the current biggest problems with humanity is that they immediately judge other life forms without considering how they feel, including natural impulse differences, etc. just due to being designed completely differently. I think this show could seriously help with that. There are many good messages in the show, the funniest kinds of jokes I can think of, and epic action sequences!
Please consider signing this petition if you love this show, these characters, dinosaurs in general, have a rude sense of humor like me, or care to help many families who are disappointed that new episodes aren't currently being made. I have heard many parents say that their kids think this is the best show ever, so please sign this for them at least! I found this playlist including most of the official Bad Dinosaurs videos on YouTube, so please give a like to every video in this playlist, watch every video in it from beginning to end, and subscribe to all of the channels who posted these videos if you really want to help extra, thanks!
