Hi! I'm an upcoming sophomore at the University of Delaware majoring in Elementary Education.

I recently secured a fantastic opportunity to work as a Resident Assistant (RA) at the University of Delaware. This requires me to live on-campus in a dorm, making it necessary for me to terminate my current lease with Meridian on Main.

I've attempted multiple avenues to get out of this lease, but I haven't been successful. I have tried to contact a lawyer and have even gotten the government involved. However, all these attempts have led to dead ends. The landlord is not allowing me to terminate the lease.

I have attempted to relet my portion of the apartment. Unfortunately, no one wants it. 

It's not fair that I have to find someone anyway. I cannot live in the apartment, which is the foundation of the termination clause in the DE Tennant Code. I have attempted to change the legislation, but it is past the due date to be able to change the tenant code until next year.

Please sign this petition to urge Meridian on Main to allow me to terminate my lease early. I'd appreciate support from other Delawareans/University of Delaware students.
