Dear friends,

Thanks to your incredible support and the tireless work of our team and volunteers on the ground, we’ve now reached a major milestone:

We have officially submitted a list of 46 Afghan WHRD’s primary applicants, together with their families—a total of 222 people—to our Brazilian partner organization, Panahgah.

With the funds raised so far, we are able to fully sponsor 11 families (32 individuals) for one year of resettlement in Brazil.
These include some of the most vulnerable women—unaccompanied women and children—who have no one else to protect them.

This is huge progress. For those who have been with us since the beginning you that when we started this journey, we had nothing—no responses from governments, no clear pathways. Today, we have a solid evacuation and resettlement plan, trusted partners, legal documentation, and a working process. The only missing piece is funding.

Here’s where we still need your help:

• Panahgah is allowed only one submission list per intake window each month—currently capped at 60 people.
• Panahgah is required to present proof of one full year of support in advance for every individual on the list. That means we need cash in hand or a formal financial guarantee from a Brazilian-recognized institution.

We’re now reaching out to the Brazilian government to accept this list urgently—and ideally allow more people in. But speed is critical. Every day in hiding puts these women human rights defenders and their families at further risk.

If you or someone you know would like to do something deeply impactful—such as sponsoring a family or a group of extremely vulnerable Afghan WHRD’s—please reach out. For example, a benefactor from Italy recently stepped in to fund the transfer of a small group of women who have no male guardians and face immense social exclusion and danger. But we also have LGBQT, Hazara, Christian, and other minorities in our group who face similar discrimination.
