Imagine you are in need of shelter for yourself and your family. You are grateful because you find a place of safety and security. And then you and your child are separated because they do not like how you parent and you are turned out into the street.

This is what happened to Habiba, a young Moroccan mother. She was in a center operated by the Madrid Institute for Children and Families (IMMF). They felt that extended breastfeeding was damaging to the child, despite having no evidence to support this idea and despite the fact that the WHO and National Association of Pediatrics support breastfeeding past one year as long as it is agreeable to mother and child. So they took Habiba's 15-month old daughter and put Habiba out on the street.

This is not fair. This is not right. Please take the time to add your signature to this petition. Fight for this family as you would want someone to fight for yours.
