As concerned citizens of Nelson, British Columbia, we strongly oppose the proposed "Hallō Nelson" development at Granite Point Golf Club. At a time when our community faces a severe housing crisis, with many struggling to find affordable shelter, we find it unacceptable for this land to be used for luxury developments of second and third homes for the ultra-wealthy. We are vehemently opposed to the developers plans to fly people here in private jets when our region is still under a cloud of wildfire smoke caused by the current climate crisis.

This project is not only out of touch with the values and culture of our community but also ignores the housing needs of our residents in favor of profits for a select few.

We ask the city of Nelson to reject the Hallō Nelson development and work towards thoughtful, sustainable development of affordable, social and supportive housing while integrating and preserving public space.
