In Denmark the use of wild animals in circuses has been restricted to certain breeds for several years. Despite this, there are still many that are forced to perform - or be involved in - acts unnatural to their otherwise basic insticts and behaviour.

The Arena Circus for example, exploits animals such as elephants, Zebra; horses and camels; and I strongly believe that these beautiful species are beguiled of their freedom and subject to travail circumstances that cause them stress and sadness. 

Elephants perform tricks that are often only possible through the use of cruel coercion during training. Many animals are kept in cages that are too small and manacled inbetween performances to keep them restrained. Life on the road does not provide these animals with sufficient water and food; social lives or exercise.

Everyday there are killings all over the world; seperation and injustice. Imagine a young girl, taken from her mother and forced to do things against her will; this in turn creates anger and anguish throughout our entire population. For animals all over the world - Innocent, sentient beings that cannot speak out for themselves - this too is a reality and should also create a tenebrific storm inside each and every one of us. 

Countries such as Bolivia, Peru and Greece; Paraguay, Columbia, Netherlands and Slovenia - have already but a total ban in place - and I urge Denmark to do the same. In doing so other countries will follow suit and we will all begin to move towards and more compassionate and loving society; in which specisism will become defunct.
