Heather Thomas started this petition to Oshawa City Council

Oshawa Animal Services is at risk of being closed down by Oshawa city council. This is a vital service to our tax payers and the animals of Oshawa. OAS has been ready and willing to take on any needy animal that comes through the doors. Feral cats are treated with respect and go through the TNRM program, lost animals are reunited, appropriate rescues are sought out for dogs with behavioural and training issues, pregnant cats are placed in loving foster homes to have their kittens in a safe home environment, multiple adoption centres have been set up so cats and rabbits can find their forever homes even faster, and the community comes together to raise extra money for animals requiring extensive medical care. This is just a few examples of the amazing things that happen at OAS everyday. The people of Oshawa trust OAS and they should. The supervisor and staff strive everyday to do the best for the animals and the residents and it shows. WE CANNOT LOSE THIS VERY IMPORTANT CITY SERVICE THAT IS FUNDED BY TAX PAYERS. MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD TODAY.

Oshawa Animal Services belongs to the people of Oshawa. Your tax dollars keep this very important service open. All concerned residents of Oshawa need to make their opinion known today. Email your city councillors now and demand that Oshawa Animal Services remains open.

I started this petition because…
This petition has been started on behalf of some very concerned residents of Oshawa. Many of us also rescue animals and know very well what an incredible place Oshawa Animal Services is and how important it is to the community. We will not stand by and allow OAS to be closed. We will do whatever is takes to make sure the doors stay open at OAS.
