The NHS talks up its ability to protect data but in 2014 it topped the lists for data security breaches. They had been leaking confidential data on me to a Trust I had never worked for. Having caught them red handed, the GMC sent me a grovelling apology. That didn't assist them because I started to realise how systems fail due to bad human behaviour. There is a line in the latest James Bond movie which says ....information is everything. It is. I think its vital for everyone to ensure their medical records are secure. In this era of digital records, breaches are becoming even more common. That's my bit of wisdom for the day.
